What do you enjoy most about wealth management?

I enjoy the conversations that surround wealth management. Taking complex situations and finding creative solutions that give clients peace of mind knowing that we have it handled.

What’s the biggest challenge?

I’d say the biggest challenge in wealth management is helping clients navigate the unpredictability of the capital markets. Helping them stick to their plan and using data driven decisions is key. As Warren Buffet says, “time in the market beats timing the market”.

What do you love most about being part of The Andrews Group?

Its cliche, but it’s the team and the people within it. You can tell pretty quickly when a team is not functioning well. The Andrews Group sets a high bar for teamwork and collaboration.

What quality of yours makes you best suited to do what you do?

My ability to maintain composure and stay grounded in stressful situations. While I take great pride in what I do, I also don’t take myself too seriously.

How should people think about their wealth?

I like to think of wealth as a tool for creating freedom, security and achieving life’s goals. The ultimate goal is using wealth to gain control over your time and choices, rather than accumulating possession.

What do you love to do outside of work?

I am a fly-fishing enthusiast. There is nothing better than hiking up and down a river in search of Steelhead.

What would you be doing if you weren’t working for The Andrews Group?

I’d be a fishing guide somewhere way up north.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m proud of going back to school later in life to pursue a passion. My daughter has asked many times, “why are you still in school?”. I tell her you are never too old to learn something new.

What was the most influential book you’ve read and why?

A Brief History of Time Stephen Hawking. While I love wealth management, I am a science nerd at heart. The book dives into the origin, development and eventual fate of the universe. Helps put things in perspective.
